On Day 3 of the fifth Test in Sydney, Pat Cummins-led Australia defeated India by 6 wickets, finally ending their ten-year quest for the Border Gavaskar Trophy. As the hosts chased down a target of 162 runs in just 27 overs, India could not restrict the Australian batting lineup. On Day 3, the fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah could not participate in the final innings, bringing an unimpressive conclusion to his fantastic tour of Australia. Cummins adds another big trophy to his cabinet
Cummins, however, added the one significant prize that was missing from his cabinet after winning the Border Gavaskar prize. After leading Australia to their first World Test Championship victory in 2023 and defeating India in the final, Cummins' stellar career as the Australian captain got underway.
With a crucial performance in the opening Test at Edgbaston that year, he also assisted Australia to retain the Ashes in England. Australia further won the ODI World Cup under his guidance, defeating India in the home final once more. The Australia captain has won another major trophy and built an impressive cabinet with his hands on the Border Gavaskar Trophy.
