Big News: Rohit Sharma ruled out of 3rd ODI and doubtful for Test series, confirms Rahul Dravid

Rohit Sharma who walked out to bat despite injury and almost saw India through with his blinding knock has been ruled out of the third and final ODI of the series against Bangladesh, confirmed head coach Rahul Dravid in the post-match press conference on Wednesday (December 7). In addition, Rohit is doubtful for the two-Test series which will begin on December 24.
 

"Rohit Sharma will miss the 3rd ODI, he will fly back to Mumbai to consult an expert - Kuldeep Sen and Deepak Chahar are out of the series," Dravid said. "Not sure about the participation of Rohit Sharma in Tests," he added. 
 

In the post-match presentation, Rohit gave an update as well as India lost the second ODI my a narrow margin of five runs. 
 

“It (thumb injury) isn't too great. Some dislocation and some stitches. Fortunately, not a fracture and so, I was able to bat,” the Indian skipper told broadcasters. 
 

Rohit got injured in the second over of the innings. Anamul Haque edged one to second slip fielder Rohit. He dropped the catch as well. As he walked out of the ground with blood on his left hand, Rajat Patidar came in as substitute fielder.
 

Rohit was taken to the hospital for scans. As India struggled in the run chase, Rohit walked out to bat at no.9. He kept the game alive till the last delivery. He remained unbeaten for 51 off 28 deliveries including three fours and five sixes.
 

As Kuldeep and Chahar have been ruled out of the third ODI as well, Rohit also answered the question about frequent injuries that have hampered with team combinations.
 

“There are few injury concerns, we need to get to the bottom of this. Need to try and monitor them, because it's important to understand this. When they come to play for India, they need to be at more than 100 percent. We need to monitor their workload because we can't have guys coming in to play for the country half-fit,” the 35-year-old said.
