Former India captain and maverick batter, Virat Kohli was involved in a heated exchange with Bangladesh players in the final hour of the day's play on Day 3 on December 24 (Saturday). The incident occurred on the penultimate ball of the 20th over during India's run chase when Mehidy Hasan Miraz dismissed Kohli (1 run off 22 balls). Kohli, who was looking like a pale shadow of himself on a tricky wicket, struggled to find any sort of rhythm and fluency in his knock before Mehidy Hasan found the inside edge of the Indian batter's willow and Mominul Haque at short-leg completed an easy catch to increase pressure on India.

The 34-year-old was extremely distraught with his dismissal and was further rattled by Bangladesh players, who seem to have said something which Kohli didn't like. The Bangladesh players indulged in excessive celebrations and Kohli was absolutely furious. The former India captain exchanged some words with Bangladesh skipper Shakib Al Hasan and stared at the opposition players. The on-field umpires stepped in to calm things down before Kohli set off for an agonising walk back to the pavilion.

India ended Day 3 with a score of 45/4, still needing 100 runs to win the Dhaka Test.
