International Cricket Council (ICC) became a butt of jokes after blundering a post that left the netizens guffawing on Twitter during the second ODI match between India and Bangladesh on Wednesday (December 7). ICC while updating about the toss of the second ODI between India and Bangladesh, accidentally shared a picture of the Canadian cricket team. ICC was quick to delete the post but not quick enough to escape the notice of their followers.

“Can Bangladesh claim the second ODI to take the series? They have won the toss and elected to bat in Mirpur,” read the now-deleted post.

Fans retweeted the deleted post and ICC became a laughingstock due to their own mistake which made them a butt of the joke.  A user pointed out the mistake and wrote, “ICC thought Canada vs Bangladesh."

One person wrote, “Can not believe this is the international body for cricket!”

Another troller quipped that India's performance in the ongoing Bangladesh series was on par with the Canadian cricket team and as a result ICC confused the Indian cricket team for the Indian cricket team.
“Some players of our team played like players of the Canadian team, so they have posted like this,” the tweet read.

In the second ODI, India once again suffered a defeat from being in the throes of victory resulting in the loss of the match and the series too. The Rohit Sharma-led Men in Blue got off to an ideal start with a cluster of six wickets falling quickly. But soon a solid partnership between Mohammad Mahmudullah and Mehidy Hasan became the reason for Bangladesh's putting up a towering target of 272. The duo put on a total of 148 runs in the partnership they stitched for the seventh wicket which now happens to be the highest-ever partnership of Bangladesh against India. In response, Virat Kohli came to open the innings in place of the injured skipper and after a few scratchy shots, Kohli was dismissed by Ebadot Hossain. From there Shreyas Iyer brought some stability with a knock of 82 and Axar Patel also stepped up to the plate with a half-century (52). India were starting to look down the barrel and on course of another victory before captain Rohit came out to bat with a busted finger at no. 7 and clobbered a 51 in 28 deliveries. The knock drove India close to victory but was not enough as India fell short of the target by five runs.
