India's little dynamite Ishan Kishan whacked a towering double century to shatter records in the third ODI against Bangladesh in Chattogram on Saturday (December 10). Riding, on an unbeaten 210 off 131, he became the fastest batter to belt a double century in ODIs, busting Chris Gayle's record who slammed the double ton in mere 138 deliveries in 2015 World Cup. He also became the firs Indian to hit a double ton outside India. Later Kishan departed for 210 off 131 to leave India in a commanding position of 305/2 after 35.5 overs, with Virat Kohli on the other side nearing his imminent century.

He also broke the record of the highest individual score by a batter in ODIs in Bangladesh. Earlier, Shane Watson held the record after he scored an unbeaten 113-ball 185 against Bangladesh back in April 2011 in Mirpur itself. Kishan also went past Virat Kohli’s record of highest individual score by an Indian batter in an ODI in Bangladesh.

Kishan came into the lineup to replace injured captain Rohit Sharma and grabbed his opportunity with both hands to put India in the driving seat.

The 24-year-old explosive batter became the fourth Indian batter to score a double hundred in ODIs after Virender Sehwag, Rohit Sharma and Sachin Tendulkar, as he put the Bangladesh bowlers to the sword in the third ODI.
