Rishabh Pant needs 52 more runs to become 5th Asian wicketkeeper to achieve this feat
India's new vice-captain Rishabh Pant will have a chance to enter the elite list of Asian wicketkeeper-batters during the Test series against England.

The five-Test series begins on June 20 at Headingley, Leeds. Pant has a chance to leave Sarfaraz and Sangakkara behind on the list. He needs 84 runs and 170 runs to go past Sarfaraz and Sangakkara respectively.

1. Former India captain MS Dhoni has 4,876 runs from 90 Tests at an average of 38.09, including six centuries and 33 half-centuries. His highest score was 224.

2. Bangladesh's Mushfiqur Rahim has 3,515 runs from 55 Tests at an average of 37. Rahim as six centuries and 16 half-centuries as wicketkeeper-batter in the format. His highest score is 219 not out.

3. Former Sri Lanka captain Kumar Sangakkara has 3,117 runs from 48 Tests as wicketkeeper at an average of 40.49. Sangakkara has scored seven centuries and 11 fifties.

4. Former Pakistan captain Sarfaraz Ahmed has 3,031 runs from 54 Tests as wicketekeeper at an average of 37.41. Sarfaraz has four centuries and 21 fifties to his name as well.

5. Rishabh Pant is fifth on the list with 2,948 runs from 43 Tests at an average of 42.11. Pant has six centuries and 15 half-centuries. His highest score is 159 not out.
