During a recent appearance on 'The Kapil Sharma Show', Indian wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant and head coach Gautam Gambhir shared a light-hearted moment before departing for the team's current five-match Test series in England. The duo participated in the popular comedy program, engaging in a candid and amusing conversation with the host.
Rishabh Pant calls Rohit Sharma 'jethani' of Team India
During the show, the host Kapil Sharma playfully inquired about the team dynamics, asking Pant about who is the 'Jethani' of the side, a colloquial term for a person who holds significant authority and makes most of the decisions. With a chuckle, Pant named his captain Rohit Sharma as the one who fits that description.
Following up on his own answer, Pant then humorously reminded the audience and the host that Rohit Sharma has retired from the sport. This unexpected comment prompted a hearty laugh from coach Gautam Gambhir, who was visibly amused by the wicketkeeper's witty remark.

Team India is currently engaged in the second Test match against their opponents in Birmingham. This match follows India's loss in the first Test held at Headingley. A notable highlight for India during the Headingley Test was Rishabh Pant's twin centuries which went in vain as the visitors ended up losing the match by five wickets.
Moving to the ongoing Test at Birmingham, India found themselves in a commanding position after the third day of play. Shubman Gill's record-breaking 269 first helped India post a mammoth first innings total of 587. Mohammed Siraj then rose to the occasion with a sizzling six-fer to bowl out England for 407 despite centurions Jamie Smith and Harry Brook's 303-run partnership. While Jamie Smith cracked a robust 184, Harry Brook chipped in with a commendable 158 to bail out England from a precarious 84/5 and took them past 400-run mark.
On Day 4, India were left reeling at 126/3 after 29.1 overs which extended their overall lead to 306.
