ICC revealed their pitch ratings for the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy

The pitch at Headingley was rated as good by ICC

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has revealed their pitch ratings for the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy. Out of four, just one pitch was given a 'very good' rating by the global body while the rest of the pitches were labelled as 'satisfactory'. Notably, the pitch rating for the fifth Test is yet to be released by the ICC.

The pitches in England proved to be quite batting-friendly and there were a lot of centuries scored in the five-match assignment. On the other hand, the bowlers were seen struggling to get wickets on most of the occasions with many batters even deciding to play T20esque cricket on the easy pitches.

Interestingly, all the matches of the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy were decided on the fifth and final day. England and India both came out victorious on two occasions each while the fourth Test ended in a draw after the Men in Blue batted for almost two days at Old Trafford.

First Test at Headingley - Pitch rating: Very Good, Outfield rating: Very Good

Second Test at Edgbaston - Pitch rating: Satisfactory, Outfield rating: Very Good

Third Test at Lord's - Pitch rating: Satisfactory, Outfield rating: Very Good

Fourth Test at Old Trafford - Pitch rating: Satisfactory, Outfield rating: Very Good

Meanwhile, India recorded a stunning 6-run victory in the fifth Test at The Oval to draw the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy at 2-2. Mohammed Siraj was the star of the show for the Men in Blue, recording figures of 5/103 to carry the visitors to a memorable victory that will be remembered by fans for years to come. The 31-year-old was also adjudged as the Player of the Match for his stellar bowling performance.

India's next Test opponent will be West Indies

This victory at The Oval saw India move up to the third place on the World Test Championship (WTC) points table, pipping England down to the fourth spot. They are now only behind table-toppers Australia and second-placed Sri Lanka. The Men in Blue will definitely be looking to make more gains on the table when they face West Indies in their upcoming two-match Test series at home which is set to commence from October 2.
