Dinesh Karthik gives warning to Shubman Gill ahead of his first Test assignment vs England.

India vs England five-Test match series is scheduled to start from June 20.

Former India wicketkeeper batter Dinesh Karthik warned Shubman Gill ahead of the upcoming Test series against England. The upcoming five-Test match series against England will be first assignment for Shubman Gill as a captain. The 25-year-old was appointed India's Test captain after Rohit Sharma announced his sudden retirement from the longest format of the game.

A video is going viral on the social sphere where Dinesh Karthik can be seen giving a warning to Gill ahead of his first Test assignment as a captain. The upcoming five-Test match series against England will be India's first Test assignment for the ongoing World Test Championship cycle.

"I really don't think he has realised the enormity of what it means to be the best captain for India as of now. He is walking into the lion's den. Coming to England as a cricketing nation is not easy. There have been many a team with superstars who have come in and have found it really really hard" Dinesh Karthik said on Sky Sports.

However, Karthik believes that this is good chance for India to defeat England in the upcoming series because their bowling attack is 'very vulnerable'. He further said that England will dominate India with their batting.

"Luckily,  luckily for Shubman Gill, I think the England bowling attack is a very vulnerable attack. That is the only positive I see. They are going to be put under pressure with the bat. When I say bat, I mean England batting will definitely put the Indian team under pressure.  The bowling is an area that is still a work in progress for England, and that could very well play into India's hands" added Karthik.

India tour of England will take place from June to August 2025, with matches to be played at Headingley (Leeds), Edgbaston (Birmingham), Lord's (London), Old Trafford (Manchester), and The Oval (London). The upcoming Test series will be India's first Test assignment after a humiliating 3-1 defeat in Australia during the five-Test match series of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25.
