IND vs ENG: India go down fighting against England in Lord's Test, suffer 22-run defeat despite Jadeja's bravado and Siraj-Bumrah's blockathon on Day 5
England's Ollie Pope (L), England's Jamie Smith (2L), England's Harry Brook (R) and England's Zak Crawley (2R) run past India's Mohammed Siraj as England win the test match on the fifth day of the third cricket test match between England

Story Highlights:

England beat India by 22 runs in Lord's Test.

Ravindra Jadeja scored a gritty 61 run knock during Lord's Test.

Veteran all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja remained unbeaten at 61 off 181 balls at non-striker's end as India were bundled out on 170 while chasing 193 runs in the third Test match against England at Lord's Stadium in London. With this win, England takes 2-1 lead in the five-Test match series of the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy 2025.

The last day of the third Test match started with India requiring 135 runs and England having to pick six wickets after setting the visitors a 193-run target. The day favoured England as they picked up four wickets before lunch but were made to work hard for the remaining two wickets in the last two sessions.

India were finally all out for 170.

Archer (3/55) and Stokes (3/48) were the pick of the bowlers in the English victory, even as Jadeja battled hard for India with a gritty unbeaten 61.

India lost the big wickets of Rishabh Pant (9), KL Rahul (39), Washington Sundar (0), and Nitish Reddy (13) in the first session to hand England the advantage. England skipper added a cherry on top with veteran batter KL Rahul's wicket. The on-field umpire was not convinced by the England team's loud appeal for an lbw, prompting Stokes to go upstairs and the decision came in his favour.

Archer, making a Test comeback after more than four years, flaunted his X-factor once again as he produced a beauty to send back a half-fit Pant back into the dressing room.

The ball straightened just enough from the angle to shatter Pant’s off-stump. Pant, as the wicket-keeper, started his long walk back to the players’ balcony via the legendary Long Room.

Rahul, at the other end, needed to hold the innings together, but when he departed three overs after Pant’s dismissal.

Brief Scores:

England: 387 and 192.

India: 387 and 170 all out in 74.5 overs (KL Rahul 39, Ravindra Jadeja 61 not out; Jofra Archer 3/55, Ben Stokes 3/48).
