The first T20I was washed out due to rain in Durban on December 10.

The much-anticipated India-South Africa T20I series had a disappointing start. The opening match at Durban's renowned Kingsmead Stadium was cancelled due to rain on December 10, resulting in no play between the teams led by Suryakumar Yadav and Aiden Markram.

This series is crucial for India, being the second to last before the 2024 T20 World Cup. The washout game came as great agony for both fans and the team management. The series now moves to Gqeberha, formerly known as Port Elizabeth, where the second T20I is scheduled on December 12 at St. George's Park.

Unfortunately for cricket enthusiasts, there's unfavourable news as rain is predicted in the city on the game day.

As per weather.com, there's a 70 per cent chance of rain in the South African city of Gqeberha on the scheduled match day. However, the forecast looks more favourable around the time of the game. The match is set to commence at 5:00 local time (8:30 PM IST), with the precipitation chances decreasing to 23-34% at that hour.

With no toss taking place in Durban, India's selection choices remain a mystery. The opening partnership for India is still undecided, posing a challenging decision between Shubman Gill, Ishan Kishan, Yashasvi Jaiswal, and Ruturaj Gaikwad

After the second T20I match, the series will move to Johannesburg, where the third and final T20I is scheduled on December 14 at the iconic Wanderers Stadium. The same venue will host the first ODI on December 17.

The series will come back to Gqeberha on December 19 for the second ODI at the same venue. The third ODI is scheduled to be held in Paarl on December 21. Following the ODIs, the teams will gear up for a two-match Test series.
