India's Test captain finally showed up for the pre-match press conference after missing out the second Test in Johannesburg due to back spasm, where India had to suffer a seven-wicket defeat at the hands of South Africa.
Virat was countered with a host of questions in the pressers. On being asked about the form slump he is going through, Virat said it's not the first time he's going through this and also defended himself by saying that he has already set the benchmark and he wants to perform well for the team.
"Not the first time I have gone through a low phase with the bat. I don't look at myself from the lens the outside world looks with. I have set the benchmark, i want to perform well for the team. You have to understand sometimes things do not go in the way you want to. Sometimes focal point has to shift. If all the times you judge yourself by milestones, you will never be happy. I am at peace with how i am playing and contributing to the team. As long as I am doing the right things, I don't worry about other things." Kohli said.
With Virat back in the team, the pepped up India are all set for the decider Test as they chase their first Test series victory on the South African soil.
