India clean sweep Sri Lanka 3-0.

Suryakumar Yadav-led Indian cricket team defeated Charith Asalanka's Sri Lanka in the third and final T20I of the series which went till the Super Over and was played at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in Pallekele, on July 30 (Tuesday). India clean sweep the Lankan Lions to win the series 3-0. The biggest surprise from this match was to see Rinku Singh and Suryakumar Yadav bowling the 19th and 20th over respectively. Both of them even took two wickets each in their respective single over and helped the Men in Blue avoid what everyone was seeing as a potential one-sided loss. However, after the match Surya said that his 20th over was not what he felt the most special about.

Suryakumar Yadav revealed that more than his 20th over, the middle order taking a stand when they were around 30/4 and helping to put a fighting total on board was more special. He also said that he is trying to be a leader, not a captain, and praised all the players for their contribution.

“More than the last over, I feel when we were around 30/4, how the boys showed character, 140 was a par score on that track. I told, if we put our heart in, we could pull it off. The amount of skill they have, self self-confidence, it makes my job easy. The positivity, the care for each other is unbelievable. After the last game, I told few boys will be rested and they were ready to sit out. They have made my job easy. I have little pressure when I bat. Like I said before the series, I don't want to be the captain, I want to be the leader,” Suryakumar Yadav said in the post-match presentation.

India clean sweep 3-0

India batting first could only score 137/9 but despite being out in most of the chase, Washington Sundar, Rinku Singh, and Suryakuamr Yadav helped India to make a comeback in the death over. India won the match easily in the Super Over. Gautam Gambhir and Suryakumar's era has started with a stunning 3-0 series win. Now from August 2, Team India under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma will play a three-match ODI series between India and Sri Lanka.
