India captain Rohit Sharma who is known for his on-field hilarious talks was recently spotted with KL Rahul for a funny chat during the ongoing India vs Sri Lanka 1st ODI which is taking place at R.Premadasa Stadium, Colombo on August 2. This is the first outing for Rohit Sharma in ODIs and on the other hand, KL Rahul is coming after a long break. He last featured in the ODI series against South Africa where the wicketkeeper captained the side.
The hilarious incident occurred during the 14th over of the 1st ODI between India and Sri Lanka. Shivam Dube was bowling and he bowled his fourth ball down the leg side as the Sri Lankan batter missed his flick and the ball got into the hands of wicketkeeper KL Rahul. Shivam Dube who got a wicket in the first ball itself started appealing with KL Rahul for an edge.
The ball was untouched and the umpire gave it wide after that replays revealed that the ball was near to the bat. KL Rahul showing his other side hilariously asked Rohit Sharma whether the wide rule in IPL applies in ODIs as well. The video of India duo went viral in no time, here is the clip.
IPL the rule says if the batting team or the bowling team doesn’t agree with the umpire's decision regarding the wide call, then they can challenge it by taking the review.
