Team India is on a driver seat of the second Test against West Indies as Rohit's brigade rode on Virat Kohli's incredible century to muster a colossal 438-run total after the end of Day 2's play.

Where Kohli's 76th century in the 500th international match grabbed eyeballs, Ravindra Jadeja's controversial dismissal ruffled some feathers on Day 2 of the second Test between India and West Indies. The incident took place on the fifth ball of the 104th over which Kemar Roach was bowling. Jadeja, who was rigid at the crease with 61 off 152 balls, but as the star all-rounder attempted to drive a ball on the fifth stump, edged it to wicketkeeper Joshua da Silva, who quickly appealed for a catch.

However, the appeal wasn't enough to convince the on-field Marais Erasmus as he ruled it not out. But the rigid West Indies decided to challenge the umpire's call and went for a review. The TV Umpire Michael Gough perused the entire series of event and the moment he observed that the ball was close to the ball, he invoked Ultraedge technology to find out whether the ball made any contact with the bat or not. However, in the actual delivery, he was playing away from his body and there was a clear gap between the bat and pad. But surprisingly, a mix-up occurred during the presentation of the visuals. Initially, the incorrect image was shown, indicating that Jadeja played the ball away from his body, leading to a faint nick being detected on the UltraEdge which saw the all-rounder taking the longest walk towards the pavilion as the TV Umpire declared him out.

Later during the Tea break, a clarification was issued after Jadeja's controversial dismissal as the broadcasters admitted to the fact that a mix-up happened during the DRS decision. Although they clarified that the right decision was taken despite the goof up.

While clarifying the situation commentator Daren Ganga said,"This is the actual replay and the ball part. There was no contact with bat on pad. This is the correct UltraEdge. And the right decision was made in the end, that is the most important thing. Just to clear that issue up and basically set the record straight, no fault of the umpires or the system, it's just a glitch that took place."

Despite a whole lot of debate which sparked after the controversial dismissal, India's innings was studded with some exceptional knocks from Rohit Sharma, Kohli, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Ravichandran Ashwin. While Jaiswal, Rohit, Ashwin, Jadeja cracked half centuries, Kohli smoked a brilliant century in his 500th international game.

Meanwhile, while replying to India's big total, West Indies got off to a robust start riding on brilliant partnership between Kraigg Brathwaite and Tagenarine Chanderpaul. Jadeja however, snapped the partnership and dismissed Chanderpaul for 33. By the end of Day 2's close, Caribbeans were rigid at 86/1 with Kirk McKenzie (14 not out) and Brathwaite (37 not out) alive at the crease.
