Captain Hardik Pandya lauded Suryakumar Yadav after his stellar 83-run knock that helped Team India secure a victory over the West Indies in the third T20I in Guyana.

Speaking at the post-match press conference, Pandya emphasised the significance of the recent win, mentioning that while the victory was crucial for team morale, Team India has a broader vision in place. This win keeps India's hopes alive in the five-match series against the West Indies.

"This T20I win was a key moment for us, but we always have our eyes on the bigger picture. Our strategies and plans are crafted keeping the future in mind, while also focusing on current objectives," commented Pandya.

Discussing the strategy against Nicholas Pooran, the West Indies wicketkeeper-batter, Pandya expressed his desire for a competitive face-off in the upcoming fourth T20I. "We were prepared for Nicky's aggressive approach. I relish such challenges, ensuring I'm precise with my line and length. I'm eager to see him come at me again in the next match, possibly gifting us his wicket," added Pandya.

Highlighting Suryakumar Yadav's influence, Pandya stated, "Sharing the field with a player like Surya, who understands the dynamics with Tilak Varma, is an asset for Team India. Suryakumar's batting prowess, combined with his impressive strike rate, offers invaluable lessons for the rest of the squad and is a testament to his character."

Team India's pursuit of the 160-run target began with a hiccup, losing debutant Yashasvi Jaiswal early in the chase. Despite this setback, a resilient Suryakumar initiated his innings with dynamic boundaries. Shubman Gill's brief stint was cut short, but Tilak Varma stepped up, producing a pivotal partnership with Suryakumar, effectively diminishing the host's chances.

The duo of Tilak and Pandya smoothly carried Team India over the line, with Pandya finishing the match in style and Tilak Varma standing unbeaten, showcasing his talent once again.

After their triumphant performance in Guyana, India is gearing up to face the West Indies in the fourth T20I at the Broward County Stadium in Florida on August 12. This India vs West Indies clash promises to be another cricketing spectacle.
