Good news came in as covers have been removed finally after rain halted the third ODI between India and West Indies on Wednesday. The match will now see a 40-over contest which will expected to resume at 11:15 PM (IST).
With series already in their pocket 2-0, India got off to a robust start in the third and final ODI against West Indies on Wednesday. However, match was halted with the arrival of rain during the match as India are strong at 115/1 after 24 overs.
India's skipper Shikhar Dhawan and opener Shubman Gill hit fifties to take India past the 100-run mark. However, later Hayden Walsh Jr ended the partnership by sending Dhawan back to pavilion on 58.
Earlier, India won the toss and elected to bat. The visitors make one change as Prasidh Krishna replaces Avesh Khan.
West Indies' skipper Nicholas Pooran said, “The first two games, we were heartbroken. We are motivated today, we need to get over the line. We spoke about batting 50 overs, but we need to be more consistent. We will get to see the result eventually. Holder, Keemo and Carty are in. Alzarri, Rovman and Shepherd are out”.
India captain Shikhar Dhawan said," We will bat first. We will like to post a good score. The best thing is everything is performing, nice to see that. That's a big positive for us, happy with that. I feel that intent is important, but at the same time you need to be smart. Dravid is doing a good job, the more the players will play, the better they will get. We got one change. Prasidh comes in for Avesh Khan".
