Highlights:

The three-ODI series begins on December 5.

Tahlia McGrath will lead the side.

Alyssa Healy is doubtful for New Zealand series as well.

Australia captain Alyssa Healy has been ruled out of the three-ODI series at home against Harmanpreet Kaur-led India next month. Alyssa sustained a knee injury during the Women's Big Bash League (WBBL) 2024.

In Alyssa's absence, Tahlia McGrath will lead Australia. Alyssa has been replaced by 21-year-old batter Georgia Voll who has more than 1,200 runs in WBBL under her belt.

"Georgia Voll has had a strong start to the summer and has shown her potential over several years," Australia women's national selector Shawn Flegler said.

"She'll form an exciting partnership with Phoebe Litchfield at the top of the order in what will be a great opportunity for her to get a taste of international cricket against a strong India side."

Meanwhile, Alyssa's availability for the New Zealand tour is doubtful as well. A call is set to be taken next month.

"The decision for Alyssa Healy to miss the India series was made with a longer-term view to the Ashes, with her availability for the New Zealand series to become clearer over the next few weeks," Flegler said.

"Tahlia McGrath impressed as captain in tough conditions during the World Cup and will have strong support from Ash Gardner who has developed into a strong leader within the side, both on and off the field."

The ODI series will begin on december 5 at Allan Border Field, Brisbane. The second ODI will be played at the same venue on December 8. The final match of the series will be hosted at WACA Ground, perth on December 11.
