Chennai Super Kings CEO Kasi Viswanathan opened up on star batter MS Dhoni's availability for the next season of Indian Premier League which will be played in 2025. Before this season there were specualtions that this will be Dhoni's last IPL season as a cricketer. The 42-year wicketkeeper batter also left the captaincy just before this season and franchise appointed Ruturaj Gaikwad as his sucessor for the franchise.
After losing a do-or-die clash against Royal Challengers Bengaluru CSK got out of the tournament but Dhoni has not yet disclosed weather he will play the next season or not. In IPL 2023 Dhoni featured as a finisher for his franchise, he scored 161 runs in 14 matches with an average of 53.67 but he was seen limping during IPL 2023.
All rumors about his retirement got fire after he left the field without shaking hands with the opposition after CSK's IPL 2024 journey ended in Bengaluru. Dhoni left for Ranchi on the very next day and was spotted Riding motorcycle in his hometown.

"(What is his future). I do not know. It's a question which only MS can answer. See, the question for us is, we've always respected the decisions taken by MS. We have left it to him. And as all of you know, he has always taken his decisions and announced them at the appropriate time," Kasi Viswanathan told CSK in an interview.
"We do expect that we will get a decision as and when he decides. But we are very, very hopeful that he will be available for CSK next year. That is the view and the expectations of fans and me. That's the case," he added.
CSK IPL Titles with Year
Dhoni is arguabaly one of the best captain in history of IPL. CSK won joint most five titles under his captaincy. CSK won the title in 2010, 2011, 2018, 2021 and 2023 and now after he left the captaincy, the franchise were unable to qualify for the playoffs berth.
