Legendary MS Dhoni, Chennai Super Kings' (CSK) superstar wicketkeeper-batter, remains a massive fan favorite in IPL 2024. Whenever he appears on the giant screen, during practice sessions, or even when he walks out to field or bat, the crowd erupts. Few days back during CSK's clash against LSG, the roar of the fans was so loud when Dhoni walked out to bat, Quinton de Kock's wife Shasha's smart watch ended up notifying her with a warning message which read:

"Loud environment. Sound levels hit 95 decibels. Just 10 minutes at this level can cause temporary hearing loss"

Cameras seem to be constantly trained on Dhoni. Fans are eager to catch a glimpse of him, whether he's eating, watching the game unfold, preparing for potential action, or even having conversations with teammates.  However, during a match against Lucknow Super Giants at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on April 23, things took a surprising turn. While the cameras followed the explosive batting display of CSK captain Ruturaj Gaikwad and Shivam Dube, Dhoni seemingly reached his limit with the constant attention. He was captured on camera making a gesture with his water bottle towards the cameraperson, who quickly redirected their focus back to the match itself.

Ruturaj Gaikwad etched his name in CSK history by becoming the franchise's first captain to score a century in the IPL. His unbeaten knock of 108 runs off just 60 balls laid the foundation for CSK's strong total of 210/4. Shivam Dube provided crucial support with a blistering 66 off 27 balls. Their 104-run partnership, the third-highest fourth-wicket stand for CSK in the IPL, put the home team in a commanding position. (The previous highest partnerships were 109* between MS Dhoni and S Badrinath in 2010 and 108* between Dhoni and Mike Hussey in 2014).

However, MS Dhoni's cameo was limited to a single four off the last two balls of the innings.  Unfortunately, CSK's efforts were overshadowed by a phenomenal knock from Marcus Stoinis of LSG. Stoinis' unbeaten 124-run innings tilted the match in LSG's favor, securing a dramatic six-wicket victory.

Meanwhile, CSK, who are fifth in the IPL 2024's points table, will next face Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on April 28.
