Kolkata Knight Riders' mentor Gautam Gambhir left the KKR camp and returned to New Delhi on the eve of the Final of the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 which will be played at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, on May 26 (Sunday). Gambhir has arrived in Delhi to cast his vote in the Lok Sabha election 2024.
Gambhir casts his vote
Gautam Gambhir has called his career in politics but did remind everyone of their duty as a citizen of India. He shared a picture of himself from his official ‘X’ account formerly known as Twitter and asked fans to cast votes as well. He captioned his picture by writing "Go vote! It’s your right, it’s your country!".
He would most likely return to Chennai right away to be with the Knight Riders ahead of their big clash against Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL 2024 Final. KKR have managed to defeat SRH twice in this season and would try to keep this streak alive and claim the title for the third time.
Gambhir front-runner to become Indian coach
BCCI is currently looking for candidates to replace Rahul Dravid as the Indian head coach after the upcoming edition of the T20 World Cup 2024 which is set to be held in the United States and West Indies. Former Indian cricketer Gautam Gambhir is reportedly the front-runner for this post.
Sports Tak has learned from its sources that Gautam Gambhir is one of the few players that BCCI is communicating with but he has applied for the post yet. He will have a conversation with KKR's top brass after the IPL 2024 Final before taking a call.
