'Kaise ignore kar sakte ho,' Virender Sehwag slams Mumbai Indians for replacing Rohit Sharma with Hardik Pandya as MI captain

The five-time champions are also facing a lot of backlash following their decision to appoint Hardik Pandya as the new MI captain and replace Rohit Sharma before the beginning of the IPL 2024. Now, legendary Indian player Virender Sehwag has also slammed the franchise for their decision to strip Rohit of captaincy after he won them the trophy five times.

Sehwag questioned MI's decision to replace Rohit with Hardik and even said only Mumbai Indians can replace a five-time IPL winning captain and tell him that they don't want to go with your captaincy.

 

“Dhoni Chennai ke liye khelne gaye they toh teen saal baad shayad jeete they. Ek captaan jab aapko jeetata hai, toh phir aap usko kaise ignore kar sakte ho? Kaun franchise chodta hai? Woh Mumbai Indians hi ho sakti hai joh 5 khitaab jitne wale captaan ko keh sakti hai ki bhai ab hum aapke captaani ke saath nahi jayenge,” Sehwag said on Cricbuzz.

Hardik Pandya-led Mumbai Indians will be hosting Rishabh Pant's Delhi Capitals at the Wankhede Stadium in match 20 of IPL 2024 in an attempt to secure their first win of the ongoing edition of Indian Premier League. Hardik is also facing lot of backlash from fans. Even people from their home ground are booing him. A win here would be crucial for both his and the team's confidence.

 

Delhi Capitals are in no better position they are stuck at the 9th spot with only one win in four matches. A win here is crucial for them too.
