Jake Fraser-McGurk was looking in fine touch from the very first ball of the match. He smashed 19 runs in the first over against Luke Wood. Bumrah came in for the second over and MI thought, he would be able to stop the run flow but Jake had different plans. He smashed 10 runs against the premium pacer in the first two balls and then also smashed a four at the final ball of the over. Bumrah gave 18 runs from his first over because of the DC opener. He revealed that he was watching Bumrah's footage in order to prepare ahead of the big clash.

“It was pretty nervous. I had looked at his (Bumrah's) footage all day. But in the game everything goes out of the window and you just have to see the ball. It is good to test yourself against the best bowler in the world. You have to ride the waves of highs and lows. These innings are good for my confidence and for my team. From outside you don't know the level of the competition, this is such a higher level than the other leagues and it is amazing to be a part of it,” said Frase-McGurk in the post-match presentation.

Bumrah made a terrific comeback with the ball after the first over. He only gave 3 runs in the second over and was once again MI's best bowler. He only gave away 35 runs in his four-over spell in a match where Delhi posted 257/4.

DC climb to 5th spot

Delhi Capitals have now picked up their fifth win in 10 matches and they have now climbed to the fifth spot on the points table after overtaking Chennai Super Kings. Their chances to make it into the playoffs have increased with this win and on the other hand, MI, hopes to qualify have taken a big hit after this loss.
