Delhi Capitals' dry spell in IPL
Talking about the DC's track record, the Delhi-based franchise has never won the IPL. However, they have qualified for the tournament only once in the 2020 edition.
The 2020 season was the thirteenth edition of the IPL. Mumbai Indians (MI), the defending champions, successfully retained their title with a five-wicket win over DC in the final on November 10, 2020. DC opted to bat first and posted a total of 156/7, which MI comfortably chased down.
Pant will captain the Delhi-based franchise in IPL 2024 as he has received clearance and approval from the National Cricket Academy (NCA) to lead the DC in the upcoming season.
