Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) captain Faf du Plessis switches focus to the two mistakes that ultimately played a major role in his team's defeat against the Lucknow Super Giants on April 2 (Tuesday). In the Indian Premier League (IPL) match held at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, the RCB suffered a 28-run loss against the LSG. Faf du Plessis threw his weight on the two drop catches, first of Quinton de Kock and then of Nicholas Pooran, that proved fatal for the team.

"Spot on (the dropped catches cost us). Two very good players, Quinton de Kock when was on 25-30 and Nicholas Pooran was on 2 (so) 60-65 extra runs. Mistakes like that can cost you in the IPL," du Plessis told broadcasters after the game, as quoted by Cricbuzz.

Quinton de Kock was batting on 32 runs when he was dropped by Glenn Maxwell, who failed to complete a tough catch. The left-handed batter went on to score 81 runs off 56 balls. Meanwhile, Anuj Rawat handed a lifeline to Nicholas Pooran when the LSG batter was on 2 runs. Pooran went on to score 40 unbeaten runs off just 21 balls.

"I didn't think we were very good with our bowling especially in the powerplay, Maxwell brought it back and there were some pleasing signs in the death overs. You need two guys to bat through and get a partnership which we were not able to do. We need the strong characters in the dressing room to put their hand up," said du Plessis.

The RCB continue to remain in the ninth place on the points table with just one win in four matches played.
