All eyes will be on the big clash between Kolkata Knight Riders and Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Final of the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 that will be played at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, on May 26 (Sunday). The fans are worried that rain might play spoilsport in the match proceedings. However, BCCI has allotted a reserve day for the big match day.
120 minutes extra time
The Chennai weather forecast has not predicted too much rain. As per the Accuweather report, there is only a 3 per cent chance of rain. However, the good news for fans is that just like all other playoff matches, there is a 120-minute extra time allotted to the Final as well. That means even if there is rain, the game will have an extra two hours to start without over deductions. So a match that was supposed to start at 7:30 PM can start by 9:30 and still be a 20-over game.

What's the Reserve Day plan?
In case persistent rain does not allow the match to proceed in the allotted time then the game will be played on the Reserve Day. BCCI has kept May 27 (Monday) as the reserve day for the IPL 2024 Final. Even the CSK vs GT IPL 2023 Final was played on the Reserve Day. There were no reserve days for the rest of playoffs matches but that won't be the case in the big finale.
KKR have edge over SRH in IPL 2024
Both KKR and SRH have clashed against each other two times in this season, first in the league stage and then in the Qualifier 1. However, the Knights were able to get the better off Sunrisers both times and would like to do it for the third time in the Final to win their third IPL title.
