Star Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah revealed an interesting story about his plans to shift to Canada and play cricket for their national team instead of the Indian cricket team. Bumrah is one of the poster boys of the Indian bowling line-up. He has been one of the prominent figures in making India's pace attack great and would be a crucial asset for Rohit Sharma and the company in the upcoming edition of the T20 World Cup 2024.
How Bumrah would have played for Canada instead of India
Bumrah revealed how he always wanted to play cricket but it was difficult to make it into the Indian side. So, he thought of shifting to Canada with his relatives and giving cricket a chance there. He also revealed that it was the selection in the Mumbai Indians side that changed his career trajectory.
"We have had these conversations before. Every boy wants to make it big and play cricket. Every street has 25 players who want to play for India. You have to have a backup plan. Our relative lives there. I thought I will finish my education and…my uncle lives there. First, we thought we would go as a family, then my mum did not want to go there as it’s a different culture. I am very happy and very lucky that things worked out, Otherwise, I don’t know if I would have tried to play for the Canadian team and do something there as well. Glad it worked out here. I am playing for the Indian team and Mumbai Indians," Bumrah said on Jio Cinema.
