In the 2024 Indian Premier League (IPL) season, the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) unbeaten run at home came to an end on April 12 (Friday) when the Delhi Capitals registered a six-wicket win over the franchise. The Lucknow-based franchise's batters struggled against the spin of Kuldeep Yadav, leading to a significant collapse at one stage with the score at 94/7. This moment turned out to be the pivotal point in the game, as acknowledged by KL Rahul, who openly expressed his disappointment.

After the game, Rahul stressed his team falling short by 15-20 runs of what could have been the ideal score. LSG posted a score of 167/7 in 20 overs.

"We were 15-20 short, should've capitalised to get 180. There was a bit of help for seamers, odd-ball was keeping low and Kuldeep put the brakes on our batting group," Rahul told the broadcasters after the game, as quoted by ESPNcricinfo.

LSG's second defeat of the season

The loss marked Lucknow's second defeat in five matches, whereas Delhi Capitals secured their second victory in their sixth game of the season. Despite the early setbacks, Ayush Badoni emerged as a key player for Lucknow by scoring 55 runs towards the end of their innings, which helped his team reach a competitive total.
