Sunil Gavaskar said that Mustafizur Rahman could trouble Rohit Sharma in the CSK vs MI clash.

In four matches, Mustafizur claimed nine wickets in the ongoing season of the IPL 2024.

Hardik Pandya led-Mumbai Indians will lock horns against Ruturaj Gaikwad’s Chennai Super Kings at the Wankhede Stadium on April 14. Ahead of the match, legendary batter Sunil Gavaskar made a huge prediction that Rohit Sharma may find himself in difficulties if he has to generate all the power on his shots rather than the pitch helping him. On April 14, 36-year-old Rohit Sharma will be in action in Mumbai’s high-voltage Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 clash against CSK.

Sunil Gavaskar said that CSK speedster Mustafizur Rahman could trouble Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav with his clever change of pace. The Bangladesh pacer has dismissed Rohit five times in 20 international encounters.

"With all the match-ups that happen, you often see that batters like Surya and Rohit love the ball coming off the surface. And the slower the bowler, it becomes that much more difficult and that's one of the reasons why they look to play from outside the off-stump, looking to play the sweep shot and get caught in the deep or behind the 30-metre circle. So, that's the key," Gavaskar said while speaking on Star Sports.

Gavaskar also lavished praise on Mustafizur for bowling and showing a lot more confidence. In four matches, the left-arm speedster has claimed nine wickets at an economy rate of 8. The seamer missed a match as he flew back to Bangladesh to complete his US visa formalities for the T20 World Cup. However, he came back to don the CSK jersey again.

"The way Mustafizur has been bowling in the tournament so far (has been amazing). The way he bowls the slower one, the way he bowls the slower bouncer as well. He is actually bowling a lot better than what we have seen in the last year or so. He is looking a lot more confident. Whatever it is, he is looking a completely different and a better bowler," Gavaskar added.
