Rohit Sharma addresses MI dressing room
Mumbai Indians posted a video of the MI dressing room, where Rohit gave a motivating speech after receiving a special award for his batting. Rohit played a blazing knock of 49 runs off just 27 balls and joined a crucial 80-run opening partnership with Ishan Kishan that set the base for their humongous total of 234/5.
Rohit highlighted the importance of team performance over individual performance and how this is something the batting coach Kieron Pollard, Mark Boucher, and captain Hardik Pandya want from them going forward into the tournament.
“It was a wonderful batting performance. It's something that we've all been striving for from game one. It goes to show that individual performances don't matter if the whole batting group can stand up put their hand up and take a look at the team's goal, we can achieve that kind of total,” said Rohit.
“So I think that is something that we have been talking about for a long time. It's something that the batting coach (Pollard), Mark (Boucher), and the captain (Pandya) want. So it is wonderful to see and long may it continue,” Rohit added.
