Sunrisers Hyderabad's explosive opener, Travis Head, has surged into contention for the Orange Cap. On May 6, in a clash against Mumbai Indians, Head racked up 48 runs off 30 balls. Despite his efforts, the Sunrisers lost the match by seven wickets. This performance has propelled Travis Head to fourth place in the Orange Cap race, displacing Lucknow Super Giants skipper KL Rahul to fifth. Meanwhile, Kolkata Knight Riders' Phil Salt has fallen out of contention.

However, KKR's star all-rounder Sunil Narine remains in third place after his spectacular innings of 81 from just 39 balls against LSG on May 5.

Ruturaj Gaikwad, the captain of Chennai Super Kings, continues to hold the second spot. After a slow start to the season, he has found consistency, scoring 32 off 21 balls in his latest match against Punjab Kings on May 6, although he fell short of capturing the top spot.

The 27-year-old CSK skipper has regained his form, consistently scoring runs. Gaikwad has amassed 541 runs in 11 matches at a strike rate of 147.01, with four fifties and a century.

Sunil Narine (KKR)

Taking advantage of the opportunity to open for KKR, Narine has excelled, scoring 461 runs in 11 matches at an impressive strike rate of 183.66, including three fifties and a century.

Travis Head (SRH)

The Australian opener has been a formidable force for the bowlers, amassing 444 runs in 10 matches with a phenomenal strike rate of 189.74, including three half-centuries and a century.

KL Rahul (LSG)

The LSG captain has compiled 431 runs in 11 matches with a strike rate of 141.31, featuring three half-centuries this season.
