Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s (RCB) star Virat Kohli has extended his lead in the Orange Cap race. He smashed 92 runs off just 47 balls against the Punjab Kings (PBKS) and helped RCB win the match by a big margin of 60 runs. Kohli has been the backbone of RCB batting this season. With this knock, he has also become the first batter to cross the 600-run mark in this season of Indian Premier League (IPL)
Meanwhile, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad remains in the second spot and Sunrisers Hyderabad’s (SRH) explosive opener Travis Head is standing in the third spot. Head entered the top three after he played a knock of 89 off just 30 balls against the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) on May 8.
Rajasthan Royals’ (RR) skipper Sanju Samson who has been consistently scoring runs finds himself in the fourth spot. Recently, the wicket-keeper batter played a knock of 86 off just 46 balls against the Delhi Capitals (DC) on May 7. However, RR lost the match by 20 runs. Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) star all-rounder Sunil Narine who scored 81 off just 39 balls against the LSG on May 5 is at the fifth spot in the Orange Cap race.

1. Virat Kohli (RCB)
The star batter has been in tremendous form this season amassing 634 runs in 12 matches with a strike rate of 153.51. He has also registered five half-centuries and a hundred.
2. Ruturaj Gaikwad (CSK)
Ruturaj Gaikwad had a tough outing with the bat at the start of this season. However, he has regained his form and scored 541 runs in 11 matches at a strike rate of 147.01 which includes four half-centuries and a century.
3. Travis Head (SRH)
The explosive opening batter has been a nightmare for the bowlers this season. Travis Head has smashed 533 runs in just 11 matches at a blistering strike rate of 201.89 including four half-centuries and a hundred.

This season Sunil Narine was promoted to the opening role and he delivered a splendid performance with the bat. The star all-runder has scored 461 runs in 11 matches at a strike rate of 183.66 and registering three fifties and a century.
