Delhi Capitals surged to fifth place in IPL 2024's points table.

DC earned a 20-run win over RR on May 7.

Delhi Capitals (DC) secured a crucial win against Rajasthan Royals (RR) in their IPL 2024 clash on May 7, climbing to the fifth spot in the points table with six victories. Batting first DC posted a colossal total of 221/8 and then restricted RR to 201/8 despite Sanju Samson's brave knock of 86 runs. While this win  keeps DC in playoff contention, RR suffered their third loss but remain comfortably placed at second with eight wins in eleven matches.

Top of the Table Standoff

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) continue their dominance at the top of the table. With eight wins and a stellar net run rate of 1.453, they've practically secured their playoff spot. Their last victory came against Lucknow Super Giants with a thumping margin of 98 runs. Rajasthan Royals (RR), with eight wins but a lower net run rate, also seem likely to qualify.

CSK and SRH Hold Steady

Defending champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) maintain their positions in third and fourth, respectively. CSK emerged victorious against Punjab Kings, while SRH faced defeat against Mumbai Indians.

Playoff Hopes Dwindle for Others

Gujarat Titans (GT), last year's runners-up, find themselves struggling at the bottom of the table with just four wins. Their playoff chances seem bleak. Joining them in likely playoff exclusion are Mumbai Indians (MI), another powerhouse team with a disappointing record of four wins in twelve matches.
