The tides turned in the IPL 2024 points table after the 19th match of the glitzy league which saw Rajasthan Royals (RR) locking horns with Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at the Sawai Mansingh stadium on April 7. After a dominant performance against Faf Du Plessis' Royal Challengers Bangalore, Sanju Samson-led Rajasthan Royals now reign supreme at the top of the IPL 2024's points table.
Chasing a target of 184 runs, the Royals secured a convincing six-wicket victory with five balls and six wickets to spare. Jos Buttler was the star batter for RR, smashing an unbeaten century (100 runs off just 58 balls). RR captain Sanju Samson also chipped in with a crucial half-century (69 runs off 42 balls).
Meanwhile, Virat Kohli's valiant century for RCB (113 runs off 72 balls) wasn't enough to secure victory. His opening partner, Faf du Plessis, contributed 44 runs, but the rest of the RCB batting lineup faltered. This loss extends RCB's struggles, bringing them to four defeats in the season with only one win. Currently, they sit in eighth place, with only Delhi Capitals and Mumbai Indians ranking lower in the IPL 2024 points table.
