The do-or-die IPL 2024 clash between Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) finally got underway after being briefly halted by heavy showers at the M Chinnaswamy stadium on May 18. Kohli paired up with Faf Du Plessis to add another 49 runs at the end of 8 overs.

RCB's Qualification Scenarios for the Playoffs
Full Match (20 overs): For a full 20-over match, RCB must achieve one of the following:
Batting First: RCB still needs to win by 18 runs.
Rain disrupting the match would significantly disadvantage RCB by further reducing the number of overs and making their qualification even more difficult. If the match is reduced to a 5-over match, batting first RCB still need to win by 18 runs.
Whoever wins will earn the coveted playoff berth. But in case rain plays spoilsport both RCB and CSK will be granted one point each and in that scenario Chennai will roll into top four with 15 points under their belt.
