The 17th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 will start with the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) facing off against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in Chennai on March 22.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the IPL schedule for the first two weeks of IPL 2024 till April 7. During this period, there will be 21 matches will be played across 10 cities, with each team playing between three to five matches. The second phase of the tournament will announced later.
The BCCI will collaborate with government and security agencies to ensure compliance with all necessary guidelines, especially those concerning the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections.
As the dates for the 18th Lok Sabha elections are announced, the BCCI is in coordination with local authorities to finalise the remaining season's schedule, taking into account the polling dates.
