Sunrisers Hyderabad's explosive batter Travis Head set the M.Chinnaswamy Stadium ablaze after hitting his maiden century in the Indian Premier League in the match against Royal Challengers Bengaluru, on April 15 (Sunday). This is also the fourth ton of the ongoing edition of the IPL 2024. Virat Kohli, Jos Buttler, and Rohit Sharma are the other three batters to hit a hundred in the tournament so far. Head completed his ton in 39 balls, which makes it the fourth fastest in IPL history after Chris Gayle (30 balls), Yusuf Pathan (37 balls) and David Miller (38 balls).

Faf du Plessis won the toss and elected to ball first but the decision backfired quickly as Head was in the mood for some destruction. He smashed the RCB bowlers all across the ground. He completed his fifty in just 20 balls and also joined a blazing 108-run opening partnership with young Abhishek Sharma.

Reece Topley did dismiss Abhishek Sharma (34 runs off 22 balls) in the 9th over but that did not stop the storm from Head. Heinrich Klaasen joined Head and continued the assault on RCB's bowling unit. Head completed his century in just 39 balls. SRH scored 158 runs by the 12th over itself.

Ferguson ends Head's innings

Lockie Ferguson who was making his debut for RCB in this match provided Bengaluru with the most important breakthrough in the 13th over. The over started with Klaasen hitting a big six. He then took a single and brought Head on strike, who went for the big shot right away. However, he mistimed and the ball gained height instead of distance and went straight into the safe hands of captain Du Plessis. Head departed after scoring a blazing 102 off just 41 balls.
