Hardik Pandya-led Mumbai Indians returned to the win column after a thrilling 9-wicket victory against Sam Curran's Punjab Kings in match 33 of the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur, on April 18 (Thursday). After the match, rising MI star Tilak Varma showed a beautiful gesture towards two young PBKS fangirls and gifted them his batting gloves.

Tilak Varma played an unbeaten knock of 34 runs off just 18 balls and helped Mumbai Indians post a total of 192/7 against Punjab. However, it was his gesture after the match that is getting much more love from the fans. The star batter gifted his gloves to young girls after the match.

Mumbai Indians posted the video of it from their official ‘X’ account formerly known as Twitter. The clip is now going viral across the social space at a rapid pace and fans are appreciating Tilak's gesture towards the fans of a rival team. “Scored 34* (18), took an important catch, and this… Gave two budding cricketers a reason to believe in their dreams. Tilak Varma,” MI captioned the post.

 

MI climb to number 7 spot

 

Hardik Pandya and company have now picked up their third win of the ongoing season and kept themselves alive in the race to playoffs. They have now climbed up to the 7th spot in the points table above Gujarat Titans, Punjab Kings, and Royal Challengers Bengaluru with 6 points from seven matches.

 

On the other hand, PBKS have dropped to the 9th spot after their third straight loss. They only have two wins in seven matches and are in a p[position, where they can be out of the playoffs race with couple more losses.
