Gujarat Titans’ Mohit Sharma has moved to the top of the Purple Cap race with seven wickets from just four matches, while Chennai Super Kings’ Mustafizur Rahman also has seven wickets and is in the second position. Lucknow Super Giants’ young pacer Mayank Yadav has come down to the third spot with six wickets, Rajasthan Royals’ leggie Yuzvendra Chahal is in the fourth position, he also has six wickets, and Delhi Capitals’ (DC) left-arm pacer Khaleel Ahmed is at the fifth spot after taking six wickets from four matches.
Meanwhile, Punjab Kings’ (PBKS) speedster Kagiso Rabada moved down to sixth, RR’s left-arm pacer Trent Boult also moved to seventh position with five wickets, and Kolkata Knight Riders' (KKR) young pacer Harshit Rana moved to eighth position he also has taken five wickets.

GT’s veteran pacer Mohit Sharma currently holds the purple cap on his head with seven scalps from four matches. He has an economy of 8.18. His best bowling figure of 25/3 came against SRH. Mohit Sharma took 27 wickets from 14 matches last year and was the second-highest wicket-taker.
2. Mustafizur Rahman (CSK)
Bangladesh’s left-arm pacer Mustafizur Rahman was bought by CSK in the auction last year for INR 2 Crore. He was holding the purple cap until Mohit Sharma replaced him at the top. In three matches he has taken seven wickets and has an economy of 8.83.
3. Mayank Yadav (LSG)
LSG’s young speedster Mayank Yadav has played only two matches this season but has been all over the news with his lethal raw pace. The 21-year-old pacer from Delhi made his debut against Punjab Kings. His best bowling figure of 14/3 came against RCB. In this match, he bowled a delivery at the speed of 156.7 kmph. He has an economy of only 5.12 in the season so far.

5. Khaleel Ahmed (DC)
DC’s Khaleel Ahmed has maintained his spot in the purple cap race after his match-winning performance of 21/2 against CSK. Khaleel also has six wickets and has an economy of 8.18.
