Rising Indian star Jitesh Sharma will be leading Punjab Kings in their final match against Sunrisers Hyderabad in match 69 of the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, on May 19 (Sunday). PBKS are already out of the playoff race so this match doesn't hold much value for them but they would still try to finish this season on a high note.
Jitesh Sharma to lead Punjab Kings
Punjab Kings have officially announced Jitesh Sharma as their captain for the last league stage match. He even attended the captain's photoshoot with the trophy and when later Shikhar Dhawan got injured, everyone thought he would lead the team. However, Sam Curran was given the responsibility but with all England players returning to their country, Jitesh would finally get the opportunity.
“Punjab Kings on Saturday announced Jitesh Sharma as the Captain for their final game of the ongoing Indian Premier League season, He will lead the Kings in their game against the Sunrisers Hyderabad, set to take place at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad on Sunday, May 19th. Jitesh will take charge from Sam Curran, who has returned to England for international duty,” stated PBKS ahead of the SRH clash.
