MS Dhoni cracked a lightning 9-ball 28 in CSK's losing cause against LSG.

Quinton de Kock's wife, Sasha, shared a glimpse of the electrifying atmosphere on her Instagram story when MS Dhoni took the crease to bat during Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) vs Chennai Super Kings' (CSK) IPL 2024 clash on April 19. During the LSG versus CSK match, MS Dhoni's arrival at the crease caused such a roar from the crowd that it triggered a noise warning on Sasha de Kock's smartwatch. The noise level hit a whopping 95 decibels when Dhoni made his entry into the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow to bat, according to Sasha's smartwatch. But it was the warning that followed that caught everyone's eye which suggested exposure to this level of noise for just 10 minutes could lead to temporary hearing loss. The message on Sasha's smartwatch read:

"Loud environment. Sound levels hit 95 decibels. Just 10 minutes at this level can cause temporary hearing loss."

Sasha de Kock's Instagram story highlighted a thrilling moment during the LSG versus CSK game, where MS Dhoni, batting at No.8, unleashed his signature aggressive style. The crowd roared with anticipation as Dhoni took the crease. The veteran cricketer displayed his batting genius with a powerful display. He dominated the LSG bowlers, scoring an unbeaten 28 runs off just 9 balls. Dhoni's knock was a treat to watch, filled with 3 boundaries and 2 huge sixes. It not only thrilled the audience but also cemented his place in IPL history as he surpassed the 5,000 run mark for wicketkeeper-batsmen.

Dhoni's impressive form has continued throughout the season. He remains undefeated so far, scoring 87 runs with an incredible strike rate above 255.

CSK were faltering at 141 for 6 when Dhoni stepped up to bat with only two overs remaining. He took charge of the game and scored runs with an astounding strike rate of 311.11. This onslaught helped elevate CSK’s total to 176 by the close of their innings. LSG bowlers did well to put a leash on CSK batters until Dhoni took the crease. Dhoni too no time and drove Mohsin Khan for a four and a six, then blasting another six off Yash Thakur. He pressed on with his aggressive play, hitting two more fours and scoring 19 runs in the last over alone.

Despite Dhoni's impressive performance, it was not enough to secure a win for CSK. Lucknow Super Giants secured a comfortable victory against CSK. Captain KL Rahul was instrumental in the chase, leading with a swift 82 off 53 balls. Quinton de Kock also played a key role, adding 54 runs from 43 balls before his dismissal. The finishing touches were provided by Marcus Stoinis and Nicholas Pooran, guiding LSG to an 8-wicket win over CSK.

After the loss to LSG, Chennai Super Kings still hold onto third place in IPL 2024 points table with 8 points. Lucknow Super Giants, also on 8 points with 4 wins from seven matches, climb to fifth place. Meanwhile, LSG and CSK will be up against each other again, but this time at Chepauk on April 23.
