Shah Rukh Khan lauded KKR players for an emphatic win in IPL 2024 final.

Harshit Rana finished with 19 wickets in the season.

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) franchise co-owner Shah Rukh Khan embraced the players after they beat Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 final. After the one-sided eight-wicket win, Shah Rukh joined the players in celebration. The Bollywood superstar hugged all the players but upon meeting a young Harshit Rana, he performed the pacer’s ‘flying kiss’ celebration that landed him in trouble.

Harshit was ecstatic after seeing Shah Rukh perform his celebration. Rana hugged Shah Rukh and lifted him.

In the IPL 2024 final, he bowled a maiden over and bagged a couple of wickets. His two wickets were young SRH all-rounder Nitish Reddy and wicketkeeper-batter Heinrich Klaasen. He conceded 24 runs from his quota of four overs. In the season, he bagged 19 wickets from 13 games at an average of 20.16.

Coincidentally, Rana got fined 65 per cent of his match fees for his ‘flying kiss’ celebration after dismissing SRH batter Mayank Agarwal. Later in the season, he gave Delhi Capitals' (DC) Abhishek Porel an animated send-off. He was fined 100 per cent match fees and faced a one-game ban.

“Absolutely comprehensive. This is what we demanded from the team and every individual. They stood up to the right occasion and the feeling is hard to express. It (wait) was so long, longer than the match. We played like invincibles throughout the season. There's so much to cherish right now. It is pleasing, the performance has been flawless throughout. I am running out of words right now. We have been tremendous from game one, we stepped up today. All we demanded from ourselves was to back each other whatever the situation is,” Shreyas Iyer said in the post-match presentation.

“The game could have either way. They have been playing phenomenal cricket  - SRH - throughout the season. We were lucky to bowl first and every situation went in our favour. Thanks to SRH the way they played. Looking forward to play more competitive cricket,” he added.
