Bollywood superstar and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) co-owner Shah Rukh Khan was admitted to KD Hospital in Ahmedabad following the Indian Premier League (IPL) Qualifier 1 on May 21. As per the doctors, he became a victim of dehydration amidst heat wave.
Shah Rukh was present at the Narendra Modi Stadium during KKR’s clash against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). After KKR’s comprehensive eight-wicket win over SRH, the 58-year-old interacted with fans and took a lap around the ground.
After the match ended, Shah Rukh reached ITC Narmada Hotel late night with the team where they had a grand welcome. His health deteriorated in the morning. He was taken to KD Hospital around 1 PM and was discharged after checkup.
Shah Rukh’s health is said to be stable but doctors have advised him to take rest for some time.
Notably, the temperature of Ahmedabad crossed 45 degree celsis on May 21. The Meteorological Department had issued a red alert as well.
After the win, half-centurion Venkatesh Iyer revealed that Shah Rukh gave the team a pep talk ahead of the match against SRH.
“We were the table toppers and we have got a lot of support from the management, credit to the owners, SRK and Jay sir were also there tonight to support us. It is always special for players like us to play in the IPL final, it’s a dreamy moment for us, going to Chennai and looking forward to it,” Venkatesh told the broadcasters.
