Bollywood superstar and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) co-owner Shah Rukh Khan shared a heartwarming hug with Delhi Capitals' (DC) skipper Rishabh Pant after his team’s massive 106-run win at Vizag on April 3.
Shah Rukh met former KKR spinner Kuldeep Yadav's hair playfully. He met everyone from both teams present on the ground. Happy with young Ankrish Raghuvanshi's debut, he held his face. He met former KKR pacer Ishant Sharma and signed a DC jersey. In the video posted by IPL, he met DC opener Prithvi Shaw and embraced KKR mentor Gautam Gambhir as well.
Kuldeep has missed two games due to a niggle. Mukesh Kumar didn’t play because of an injury too. In their absence, DC’s bowling struggled against a destructive KKR lineup as the visitors posted 272/7 on the board, the second-highest innings total in the history of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024.
Debutant fires
Raghuvanshi was exceptional on his IPL debut. He walked in to bat at no.3 in the fifth over. He joined Sunil Narine in the middle and smashed three sixes, five fours in his 27-ball 54. After KKR's mammoth total, DC faced a batting collapse and were reduced to 33/4 in the fifth over. Skipper Pant and Tristan Stubbs' half-centuries entertained the crowd but they were bowled out for 166 with 16 balls left in the innings. The 106-run win is KKR's second-biggest win in IPL history by runs.

KKR’s big leap on points table
With a massive win, KKR's net run rate sky-rocketed to 2.518, way more than any other team in the tournament. They climbed to the top of the points table with three consecutive wins. On the other hand, DC's NRR took a big dent and they slipped to the ninth place below Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). DC have lost three out of four games in the season so far.
DC, KKR’s next clashes
Shreyas Iyer's KKR will now take on defending champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on April 8 in an away game. DC will go up against under-pressure Mumbai Indians (MI) who have received a big boost in the form of fit-again Suryakumar Yadav.
