Rajasthan Royals (RR) are back in the hunt for the IPL 2024 title. After a rough patch with five consecutive losses, they finally found their winning touch in the Eliminator, defeating the in-form Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). This victory was particularly impressive considering Bangalore's dominant six-match winning streak. Now, Sanju Samson-led RR have their sights set on the coveted IPL 2024 title. RR will next face Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in Chennai on May 24 in the IPL 2024 Qualifier 2.
An interesting encounter before the big match
Right ahead of the high-stakes clash, former West Indian fast bowler and famous cricket commentator Ian Bishop shared a photo on social media. The photo featured him alongside a RR's net bowler. What caught Bishop's attention was Yash's height, a staggering 6'6".
“Met this 18 year old @rajasthanroyals leg spinning net bowler yesterday as we travelled to Chennai. I am 6ft 6 1/2inchs tall. And he has me covered so he is at least 6ft 6 inches tall. His name is Yash & he is from Bengaluru,” Bishop's post read.
Bishop's tweet sparks questions about mystery spinner
Renowned commentator Bishop is known for his deep knowledge of local talent wherever he travels for commentary stints. This quality was on display again when he shared a photo with Yash, a towering net bowler for the RR. Fans applauded Bishop for spotting this young talent. However, the photo also sparked some curiosity. Yash's impressive height of 6'6" is uncommon for an Indian spinner, and many fans wondered why the Rajasthan Royals hadn't included him in the main squad for the crucial match against the Sunrisers Hyderabad.
Who will book IPL 2024 final date with KKR?
The winners of the IPL 2024 Qualifier 2 will take on Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the final. Shreyas Iyer-led secured their final spot in style, crushing the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the Qualifier 1 at Ahmedabad. KKR flexed their muscles on both sides of the pitch, bowling out SRH for a meager 159 before comfortably chasing down the target in just 13.4 overs. This win steered Knight Riders claim their third appearance in IPL final. Interestingly, both their previous title triumphs came under the leadership of Gautam Gambhir, who has returned this season as a mentor. With Gambhir's experience guiding them, KKR looks poised to make a strong run for the trophy.
