Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) have received a major boost ahead of the clash against Mumbai Indians (MI). Their fast-bowling sensation Mayank Yadav has completely recovered from his lower abdominal strain which ruled him out of few games. He is expected to be in the team sheet when KL Rahul's LSG take the field against Hardik Pandya-led MI at Ekana Cricket Stadium on April 30.
"Mayank is fit and he has passed all his fitness tests and (we're) excited (to) have him back playing potential 12 tomorrow," LSG bowling coach Morne Morkel said at a pre-match press conference.
Mayank has played three games in the ongoing IPL 2024 so far. In the first two games, he picked up three wickets each and won 'Player of the match' awards. In his third match, he bowled just one over against Gujarat Titans (GT) and went off the field. He has been out of the action since. He is likely to be used as impact sub against MI.
Mayank made headlines after he consistently clocked over 155 kmph and broke records. Many even recommended his name for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024 squad or the part of the contingent as a travelling reserve.

Earlier, before LSG's match against table-toppers Rajasthan Royals (RR), LSG assistant coach S Sriram said that Mayank is getting close to regaining 100 per cent fitness and has started bowling in the nets.
"He's bowling today in the nets. So we'll find out how he pulls up after today, he's pretty close, so ya hopefully, fingers crossed," Sriram said.
Where LSG stand on the points table
LSG are currently placed fifth on the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 points table. They have won five out of nine games. Against RR, they lost by seven wickets at home as skipper Sanju Samson and Dhruv Jurel scored unbeaten half-centuries in the successful run chase.
