With the advent of the extravagant Indian Premier League 2022, which is regarded as the world's most popular T20 tournament, the battle of points table has also started. The IPL 2022 fever which promises to grip its fans from March 26 to May 29, in mere two days and three matches has given the glimpse of the cracking season it can turn out to be.
With every team vying to qualify for the play-offs, it's imperative for them to stay ahead on the points table given the importance of every point.
So far in the tournament, three matches have been played. In the IPL opener Ravindra Jadeja-led Chennai Super Kings, who are also the defending champions, lost to last runners-up Kolkata Knight Riders by six wickets, giving two crucial points to the Shreyas Iyer's side. Further, in a double header on Sunday (March 27), first Delhi Capitals outclassed the five-time champions Mumbai Indians and then Mayank Agarwal-led Punjab Kings stunned Royal Challengers Bangalore in a high-scoring thriller.
Meanwhile, Delhi Capitals bagged the top spot followed by Punjab Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders in second and third place respectively. On Monday (March 28), new entrants Gujarat Titans are gearing up to take on KL Rahul-led Lucknow Super Giants.
