History made! IPL 2022 surpasses 900+ sixes mark, know how teams are faring in maximums

The extravagant Indian Premier League's (IPL) 15th season has witnessed 65 matches so far and it has created history by busting old record of hitting maximum number of sixes in a single season. IPL 2022 has surpassed 900 sixes mark which has never happened before in any IPL season. So far in the tournament, 915 sixes have been hit.

 

Looking at the pace by which the maximums are being smashed in IPL 2022, the sixes mark can also go beyond a sensational 1000 mark. Also, if we talk about number of boundaries, so far 1774 fours have been hit.

 

On Tuesday (May 17), Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) took on Mumbai Indians (MI) and the Kane Williamson-led side edge past Rohit Sharma-led side by three runs. Tripathi scored 76 from 44 balls to guide SRH to a challenging 193 for six. He was ably complemented by Priyam Garg (42) and Nicholas Pooran (38). Malik (3/23 in three overs) then produced a sensational performance, while the seasoned Bhuvneshwar Kumar (1/26 off 4) bowled a wicket maiden in the crucial 19th over to stop MI at 190/7.

 

SRH' struck eight maximums in their innings which was coupled with 16 boundaries. On the other hand, MI smashed 11 sixes along with 12 fours.
