CSK vs SRH: Jadeja drops Pretorius to bring in Lankan mystery spinner; Williamson makes two changes in playing XI

Looking to open their winning accounts, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) take on depleted Sunrisers Hyderabad as Kane Williamson-led side won the toss and opted to field first.

As far as playing XIs are concerned, for CSK Jadeja brought in Lankan mystery spinner Maheesh Theekshana as a replacement for Dwaine Pretorius. On the other hand, Kane Williamson did two changes in his side as Shashank Singh and Marco Jansen made debuts for SRH.

"We would have bowled first. As a spinner always wanted to play a day game. We have one change. Theekshana comes in for Pretorius," CSK skipper Ravindra Jadeja said before the match.

Meanwhile, SRH captain Kane Williamson said," We are going to have a bowl. We just considered bowling first today. We have two changes. Shashank Singh and Marco Jansen come in. For us about it's about improving performances, and we saw that in the last game".

Three successive losses have put new skipper Ravindra Jadeja under immense pressure and he would hope his teammates can script a turnaround against the Sunrisers, who too are smarting from two reverses.

Head-to-Head

Chennai Super Kings have a clear advantage over Sunrisers Hyderabad when it comes to the head-to-head record between the two teams. CSK have won 12 times in 16 meetings between the two teams while SRH have managed only 4 wins.

Pitch report

"It's a day game and there'll be no dew, all the bowlers will be happy with that. There's a lot of grass on this pitch, there's been a lot of moisture put on this ground by the ground staff. The wicket will not be quick, will be fairly easy-paced. What you want to avoid doing with the ball is bowling short. The spin bowlers could quite enjoy this wicket, there might be a bit of turn but it'll be fairly slow turn, it won't be explosive. Not a high-scoring venue today, 150-160 will be a good score for the side batting first," former England spinner Graeme Swann analyses the pitch.
