The recently concluded mega auction for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 edition produced many shocks and surprises as multiple big names from the game of cricket ended up without having a team for the IPL 2022 edition.

Veteran spinner Amit Mishra is one such example who did not get a team at the mega auction. And after Mishra remained unsold, Delhi Capitals (DC) owner Parth Jindal took to Twitter and congratulated Mishra for his contributions towards the franchise. The DC owner also said that his team will “love to have” him back at DC.

Parth Jindal tweets

“To one of the @IPL greats @MishiAmit we @DelhiCapitals would like to salute everything you have done for us over all these years and would love to have you back at DC in whatever capacity you see fit as your insights would be most valuable. Mishy bhai DC is yours for life,” Parth Jindal had tweeted.

Acknowledging Jindal’s message, Mishra shared his tweet and wrote that he “is not finished yet” and he “can easily add to the legacy” of Delhi Capitals franchise.

Amit Mishra's response

“Thanks @ParthJindal11 for the kind words & your acknowledgment of my services for the team. I am truly humbled! But, I am not finished yet and can easily add to the legacy of @DelhiCapitals…only if DC needs me! I am always in their corner. #ibleedDC,” Mishra wrote on Twitter.

Previosuly, Mishra had been a part of the Delhi-based franchise, formerly known as Delhi Daredevils, from the inaugural edition of IPL (2008) to 2010.

Later, the 39-year-old spinner came back to the Delhi-based franchise in 2015 and remained with the franchise till 2021.

Apart from Delhi Capitals, the Delhi-born spinner had also played for Sunrisers Hyderabad as well.

Overall, he has played in 154 matches in IPL and picked up 166 wickets.

Ahead of the mega auction for the IPL 2022 edition, Delhi Capitals (DC) had roped in four players and they were- Indian wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant (Rs 16 crore), Indian all-rounder Axar Patel (Rs 9 crore), Indian batter Rishabh Pant (Rs 7.5 crore) and South African pacer Anrich Nortje (Rs 6.5 crore).
